KUCHING, Nov 26: Kampung Sentosa residents in Bintulu are hoping that the village’s drainage system will be upgraded in the future.

According to a report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing on Thursday said he had conducted a working visit to observe the drainage problem, including the infrastructure facilities in Kampung Sentosa.

He noted the problem with the drainage in Kampung Sentosa was caused by the improper planning of the current drainage systems.

ā€œI have discussed with the Department of Irrigation and Drainage Sarawak (DID) and it is understood that Kota Sentosa is already under the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12) and RM25 million have been approved for the upgrade works,ā€ he told reporters.

He added that the residents in the area also hope that the authorities would take proper action to address the matter so that the problem would repeat itself in the future. ā€” DayakDaily
