BELURU, Nov 26: The Beluru-Marudi Tuai Rumah Association have pledged their support for the leadership of Marudi incumbent Datu Dr Penguang Manggil in the coming 12th Sarawak Election.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) in a news report today, the Association chairman Tuai Rumah Gumbang Tia said that Dr Penguang has had an excellent track record throughout his tenure as the elected representative.

“As such, I urge the people in Marudi constituency to continue giving their support to Dr Penguang in the 12th Sarawak Election,” he said when speaking at the ‘Jerayawara Segulai Sejalai Spenenu’ programme at the Beluru community hall here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Dr Penguang pointed out that the Sarawak government under Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has brought a lot of development and changes to Marudi and its people.

“So there is no reason for the community in Marudi not to support GPS in the coming election.

“All the development implemented in Marudi are in line with the policies and development agenda of the government to benefit and uplift the people.

“All the development through GPS must be supported and GPS should be given the opportunity to continue leading the Sarawak government,” he added.

Political secretary to the Chief Minister Alexander Asing, Marudi District Council chairman Edward Mendai and Beluru District Iban community leader Pemanca Enggah Muga were among those present at the event. — DayakDaily
