Kampung Sadong Jaya under EMCO following spike in Covid-19 cases due to funeral activities

KUCHING, June 26: An Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) was being implemented in Kampung Sadong Jaya, Kota Samarahan after an increase in theĀ  number of Covid-19 cases in the area which resulted from funeral activities.

Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) in a news report today said a total of 901 individuals from 167 families in the village are involved with the implementation starting from June 25 until July 8, 2021.

According to the report, a total of seven roadblocks (SJR) were also being deployed by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) together with the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela), to control the incoming and outgoing movement, as well as the safety aspect in the area.

On the same note, the Ministry of Health (MOH) also conducted an active cases detection (ACD) in Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul Rahman Yaakub Hall in Kampung Sadong Jaya on Friday.

An operation room was opened and operated by the Civil Defence Force (APM) in Datuk Patinggi Haji Abdul Rahman Yaakup Mosque’s foyer to assist the operation. ā€” DayakDaily
