KUCHING, Aug 23: A brand new homestay at Kampung Daun, Singai Bau near here which is yet to be opened to guests, was razed to the ground in a fire early Saturday.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) was only alerted about the incident at 2.50 pm and a team from Bomba Bau was deployed to the scene.
According to a statement from the State Bomba Operation Centre, the fire happened earlier that morning, causing the homestay to be 100 per cent burnt. The cause of the fire was believed to be arson.
Bomba members later monitored the scene and collected necessary information at the scene for investigation purposes.
No casualty was reported in the fire and Bomba ended their operation at 4.38 pm. -DayakDaily
