KUCHING, Oct 23: The upgrading works of Kampung Bintawa Maternal and Child Health Clinic is expected to reach completion by February next year.
Santubong MP Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the works include the installation of grills, carpark and a storehouse for the clinic.
“Once the construction works are completed, the clinic will benefit about 15,000 residents in the Darul Hana area,” he said during a site inspection visit today.
The proposed construction of the new clinic was raised in 2004 after the existing Maternal and Child Health Clinic in Kampung Bintawa at the time was declared obsolete and had to be relocated as it was unsafe for operation.
The relevant parties had faced some obstacles in the process of finding land for the Clinic but it was successfully completed in 2013 and the project was included in the Darul Hana development plan.
Wan Junaidi added that the project, which costs almost RM1 million, was scheduled to end on Nov 29, 2021 but will be delayed to next year due to pandemic.
He also thanked the Land Custody and Development Authority for approving an extension of land near the Clinic with a fund of RM350,000. — DayakDaily
