KUCHING, July 31: South Korean stars Rain and Jessi are set to headline the Borneo Sonic Music Festival (BSMF) 2024 at Sarawak Stadium on Oct 11 and 12, respectively.
Other performers include Indonesian singers Judika and Bunga Citra Lestari (BCL), South Korean singer JUNNY, South Korean electric violinist and DJ UJoo, Australian electronic music duo Slumberjack, Malaysian girl group DOLLA, and other local artists namely Jess Lee Jia Wei, Priscilla Abby, Thomas Kok (member of Thomas & Jack), Zed.X (Zheng Xue), and DJ Blink.
In announcing the lineup, Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the music event will also feature the Borneo Sonic Food Carnival from Oct 9 to 12 at the Celebration Square with 50 food and drink vendors and 20 stalls offering arts and crafts items.
“It will be open from 12pm to 12am over the 4 days; attendees will be able to enjoy music performances, games, giveaways, and many more,” he said during a press conference held at Baitul Makmur 2 here today.
He also mentioned that this year’s Borneo Sonic will provide a camping ground at Football Field D (Padang D) to offer a unique glamping experience just 200 meters from Sarawak Stadium and Food Carnival.
In addition, there is also the Borneo Sonic Music Run which will take place at Stadium Sarawak on Oct 12, starting at 7am and covering a 3km route in the vicinity of the venue.
BSMF 2024 is organised by BME International Sdn Bhd, managed by Place Borneo Sdn Bhd and supported by Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry & Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP).
The festival also partners up with Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, Lalamove, MAE by Maybank2u, OPPO, Pepsi, Skechers, Smiling Fish, Tune Talk, CloudJoi, Cloudkia Solutions, Haidilao International, and The Spring Kuching.
After the success of its first concert last year, Borneo Sonic aims to unite 36,000 music enthusiasts this year.
