SIBU, Jan 13: The Magistrates Court here today ordered a teenage offender to undergo rehabilitation at Henry Gurney School for three years after he pleaded guilty to rape.
The 16-year-old accused pleaded guilty to the charge framed under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years and caning upon conviction
According to the facts of the case, the boy was charged with raping a 12-year-old girl at a rubber trading company in Sungai Bidut in June 2020.
A doctor from Sibu Hospital lodged a police report after the victim delivered a baby at her home on March 13 last year.
The case was heard before Justice Marutin Pagan. — DayakDaily
