KUCHING, July 13: The ‘Jum Regista Bisnes (Regista)’ programme aims to raise awareness and knowledge about the importance of obtaining a business licence or permit in order to conduct legal business, as well as to provide training and guidance on the business registration process.
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan in his text of speech which was read by the Sarawak Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry, and Investment Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, said that the participants will be given guidelines on how to register a business, and their businesses will then be registered at the District Office.
Mussen represented Awang Tengah at the “Regista” programme which was held today at the Integrated Agricultural Development Area (IADA) Samarahan Hall in Kota Samarahan.
“With businesses registered and licensed, entrepreneurs can take advantage of various government assistance programmes.
“We want you to register a business so that you can benefit from the assistance and benefits provided by the Sarawak government or the Federal government through the agencies involved, among other things.
“At the same time, we want to enable those of you who have businesses to participate in the training programme and so on,” Mussen said, quoting Awang Tengah’s speech.
The programme, which took place from July 13 to 14, was organised by the Sarawak Ministry of International Trade, Industry, and Investment (Mintred) in collaboration with the Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and the IADA Samarahan.
Its goal is to raise awareness and knowledge about the significance of business licences, as well as opportunities to obtain incentives and business assistance, particularly from the Sarawak government.
Also present at the programme were Kota Samarahan Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Rubiah Wang, Mintred acting permanent secretary Sayed Ismail Wan Hashim, Samarahan Division Resident Ibrahim Lumpu, and Samarahan District Officer Anuar Da’an. — DayakDaily
