Julau woman fined RM5,000 for solicitation

SIBU, Aug 19: A 33-year-old woman has been fined RM5,000 in default four months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court today after she pleaded guilty to soliciting for prostitution.

Doris Ngady of Julau was charged under Section 372B of the Penal Code for the offence, which carries a jail term of not up to one year or a fine of both.


The court was told that a police team, at about 2.15pm on Aug 17, conducted a raid on a budget hotel at Jalan Market.

The team found the accused naked with a local man in a room where they also found a packet of condoms, a used condom, and RM60.

Police investigation revealed that the accused charged the man RM100 for sexual services. — DayakDaily
