SMK Bako does Demak Laut rep proud with excellent STPM results

KUCHING, Aug 19: SMK Bako’s outstanding results in the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examination reflect the hard work of students, teachers, parents, and village leadership and the support of the State Education Department and Ministry of Education.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Environment Sustainability Dr Hazland Abang Hipni said he was incredibly proud of the achievements and outcomes that all the students have made.

“This achievement reflects the hard work and commitment of all parties.


“It is also the result of my continuous efforts to improve the level of education through the organisation of academic achievement programmes, school infrastructure projects, and motivation,” he said in a statement today in congratulating both students and SMK Bako.

Dr Hazland, who is also Demak Laut assemblyman, hopes SMK Bako’s achievement will inspire other schools in his constituency to strive to attain good results in future examinations.

“I also hope SMK Bako will maintain and continue to set good results in the future,” he added.

More interestingly, a special needs student in SMK Bako. Nur Hamizah Mohd Fuzi, who has a vision disability, obtained a CGPA of 3.42.

Meanwhile, when announcing the State-level STPM 2021 results at SMK Kubong, State Education Department director Datu Dr Azhar Ahmad said 10 schools in Sarawak achieved good results with an average CGPA above 3.00.

The schools are SMK Bako Kuching, SMK Sacred Heart Sibu, SMK Batu Lintang Kuching, SMK Merbau Miri, SMK Sungai Merah Sibu, SMK Green Road Kuching, SMK Kampung Nangka Sibu, SMK Saribas Betong, SMK Tung Hua Sibu and SMK Asajaya Samarahan.

For the record, 5,769 candidates sat for the STPM 2021 examination throughout Sarawak through 81 registered centres. — DayakDaily
