KUCHING, June 6: Lubok Antu MP Jugah Muyang has pledged his support to the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Jugah, who was former Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak vice president handed over his statutory declaration to Muhyiddin this afternoon.
He was accompanied by Deputy Minister for Energy and Natural Resources Ali Biju and International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali during a courtesy to the prime minister’s office.
Jugah in a statement yesterday said he has resigned from PKR and will support PN and Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) at the state level.
“With this, I would like to announce that I’m leaving PKR with immediate effect and becomes an Independent MP whereby I will fully support PN federal government and GPS government at the state level.
He explained that his decision to leave PKR was in line with his political agenda to bring development to his constituency in Lubok Antu.
Jugah added “I feel sad that there was political misunderstanding among the component parties in Pakatan Harapan (PH) government which led to the resignation of the (former) prime minister and subsequently leading to the downfall of PH.
Jugah expounded that he made the decision to join PN after a series of discussion with his supporters whereby they agreed that he should join PN for the betterment and progress of Lubok Antu.—DayakDaily
