KUCHING, Feb 11: The Sessions Court here has discharged and acquitted seven men to a charge of gangraping an underage girl who was walking alone at Pantai Pandan Lundu on July 7, 2019.

The seven accused, aged between 15-years-old and 29-years-old when the incident happened, were charged under Section 375B of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term between ten years and thirty years, upon conviction.

Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga today ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove the charge under Section 375B of the Penal Code against all seven offenders on a prima facie case.

Therefore, Judge Jason discharged and acquitted the seven accused on the charge without having to enter their defence.
