MATU, Aug 25: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB) Jemoreng machinery has been urged to be fully prepared for the coming 12th State Election, which could be called at any time.

Jemoreng assemblyman Dato Dr Murshid Juanda Jaya emphasised that early preparations are needed to ensure Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) remains strong in the coming elections.

“This is also to ensure a large mandate is given to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

“With a strong mandate from the people, this will enable Sarawak to remain stable and spared from the political uncertainty that would be detrimental and affect the people,” he said in a news report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS).

Juanda highlighted this at the Jemoreng Community Leadership Seminar held at the Pergau Community Hall here yesterday.

The PBB Jemoreng Branch chief stressed that the GPS government is committed to prioritising the people and their interests regardless of backgrounds.

“In fact, the Chief Minister is frequently on the ground and visiting all parts of the State to get close to the people as he cares and it is his obligation to understand and assist in the needs of the people,” he said.

He also revealed that Abang Johari has in principle agreed to build a bridge from the Kebuaw junction to Sibu which would incur a cost of about RM400 million.

At the seminar, UKAS special administrative officer Datu Takun Sunggah also delivered a briefing regarding the procedures that will take place on polling day with focus on voting agents and counting agents. — DayakDaily
