MIRI, Aug 25: The people in Miri are calling for the relevant authorities to look into improving the banking facilities at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) to ease the process of cashing out their Bantuan Khas Sarawakku Sayang (BKSS) payments.

A check by DayakDaily today saw a long queue has already forming as early as 2am (Aug 25) outside BSN’s Miri Waterfront branch.

Many were left disappointed as the bank had begun limiting the number of patrons allowed inside the premise to cash out their BKSS vouchers.

Once the bank began winding up its operations at 2pm, there were many still left waiting outside, hoping to cash out their assistance aid vouchers.

Teresang Dayak Miri chairman Ugik Jalit is hoping that a more holistic approach would help tackle the problem from reoccurring in the future.

“Perhaps the bank could provide mobile counters to other rural areas such as Bekenu, Batu Niah, Lambir or even Beluru and Lapok,” he suggested.

“We are not blaming anybody for the situation, but we hope that the relevant authorities can do something about it,” he said. — DayakDaily
