JPJeBid expanding to Sarawak

MIRI, Sept 24: The online vehicle registration number bidding system or JPJeBid is expanding to Sarawak and is expected to collect bids worth up to RM1.5 million.

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sarawak will began the JPJeBid with the QAA-Y and QS-L plate series, revealed JPJ Malaysia director-general Dato’ Sri Shaharuddin Khalid on Tuesday.


“This is our first and pilot project for Sarawak,” he reveaked during a press conference today at the Miri JPJ office.

The bidding for the QAA-Y series would kick off on October 25 from 12am until October 29 at 11.59pm, while for QS-L, the bidding process starts on October 31 (12am to 11.59pm) until November 4.

Shaharuddin said there are no limits to the amount bid.

“An individual can only get a maximum of three number plates while a registered company can get five,” he said.

He added that the system will show the rankings in real-time.

Payments for the bids can be made via debit or credit cards.

Also present during the press conference were Sarawak JPJ director Mohd Syafiq Anas Abdullah and Miri JPJ chief Maya Morshidi. — DayakDaily
