KUCHING, May 21: An unemployed man today pleaded not guilty to a charge of possessing cannabis in a room at a house in Jalan Awang Wal at about 7.50pm on March 19 this year.

However, as the chemist report was not ready yet, Sessions Court Judge Marutin Pagan fixed June 21 for further mention of the case.

He was charged under Section 6 of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and punishable under Section 39A(2) of the same Act, which carries imprisonment for life or imprisonment of not less than five years and whipping of not less than 10 strokes, if convicted.
