Jobless man caught with drugs in sling bag

The seized illegal substances.

MIRI, May 24: Fourteen plastic packets of drugs, believed to be syabu (methamphetamine), weighing 18.24g and worth RM3,880 in the street were seized from an unemployed man, here, this morning.

The 39-year-old suspect was picked up by the district Narcotics Crime Investigation Division by the roadside near a quadruplex flat in Permyjaya, Lorong 3, at 9.25am.


Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, who confirmed the arrest, said the drugs were found inside the suspect’s sling bag.

The suspect also tested positive for drugs.

The case is being investigated under Section 39A and Section 15 (1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect has previous drug-related offences under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. — DayakDaily
