KUCHING, September 24: A total of 1,976 job vacancies are up for grabs during the Sarawak Department of Labour (JTK) Sri Aman Mini Carnival Career event this Sept 26.
JTK Sarawak director Awang Raduan Awang Omar in a statement today revealed the programme will be held from 8am-5pm at the Simanggang Sports Complex closed stadium, with the objective of providing locals, especially those in Sri Aman, with the opportunity to get a job that fits their qualifications and interests.
“The JTK Mini Carnival Career programme this time would be utilising two concept of interview, namely by face-to-face interview which is the norm for every programme held, and also the virtual concept interview using the Zoom application, which helps to reduce public congestion at the event,” he added.
Among the activities and services scheduled for mini carnival are open interviews by employers via face-to-face or video call (Zoom), registration for job seekers for online portal MyFutureJobs, and also a labour advisory counter.
The event is open to the public, especially for those around the Sri Aman area, and admission is free.
“For those with (suitable) academic background or those who wish to upgrade their career are welcome to the event and they can decide on which method they want to be interviewed with,” Awang Raduan added.
He also reminded job seekers to dress appropriately and bring an updated resume as well as copies of relevant documents for their interviews.
