JKR to build 170 healthcare facilities worth RM16.47 billion nationwide

KUCHING, May 3: The Ministry of Works, through the Public Works Department (JKR), will be undertaking 170 healthcare facility projects nationwide for the Ministry of Health (MOH), with a total allocation of RM16.47 billion.

According to a news report by TVS, its Minister, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, said that through JKR, the ministry is also implementing 66 new construction projects for the MOH under the Fifth Rolling Plan (RP5) of the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP), with a total cost of RM2.4 billion.

He explained that 62 projects, worth an estimated RM4.05 billion, are in the pre-construction phase (planning).

“A total of 64 projects, worth RM7.88 billion, are in the construction phase.

“44 projects worth RM4.54 billion have been completed,” he said yesterday when speaking at the handover ceremony of the Multi-Storey Block Construction Project at Seberang Jaya Hospital in Pulau Pinang.

Also present during the ceremony were the Minister of Health Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad, and Penang Youth, Sports and Health Exco Gooi Zi Sen. – DayakDaily
