According to a video post on Sarawak Public Works Department’s (JKR) Facebook page, the scope of work for the Sungai Paku Bridge project includes site clearance and earthworks for approach roads and embankments (including soil treatment), construction and completion of a 75m-long waterfront along the riverbank on both sides of the bridge, construction and completion of a 107m-span steel arch bridge, and construction and completion of 250m-long approach roads and two mini roundabouts.
In addition, the project encompasses refurbishment work on the existing bridge.
JKR Sarawak also stated that the bridge’s construction will allow for smooth traffic flow in both directions (Betong and Spaoh) as it crosses Sungai Paku. — DayakDaily
