KUCHING, Jan 14: A total of 14 Rural Transformation Projects (RTPs) worth RM1.45 million are currently being carried out in Sri Aman.
In a statement today, Public Works Department (JKR) Sarawak disclosed this during Simanggang assemblyman Datuk Francis Harden Hollis’ visit to various implementing agencies in the district recently.
According to JKR Sarawak, Harden, also Assistant Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development II (Talent Development), was briefed on the Sri Aman Waterfront construction project, including Benak Tower and the Pengkalan Ikan Bulu by the relevant implementing agencies.
Another 13 RTPs worth RM2.2 million were also implemented in the district, benefiting the locals.
Meanwhile, JKR said under the Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID), a total of 14 RTPs worth RM1.75 million were carried out in Sri Aman for the year 2021.
“The implementation of the RTPs is Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) initiative to bridge the development gap between urban and rural areas,” the statement added. ― DayakDaily
