Man sentenced to 12 years in jail for sexually assaulting 11yo girl

KUCHING, Jan 14: The Sessions Court here has sentenced a 25-year-old odd jobs worker to a total jail term of 12 years for three charges of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl.

The 25-year-old accused pleaded guilty to all three charges framed under Section 14(d) of the Sexual Offences Againts Children Act 2017 before Sessions Court Judge Maris Agan.


Judge Maris Agan sentenced the accused to an imprisonment term of four years for each charge. Judge Maris also ordered the imprisonment term to run consecutively.

Therefore, the accused would need to serve his sentence in jail for 12 years.

The accused allegedly kissed the 11-year-old victim’s cheek, rubbed her breasts and touched her private parts at a house in Matang, on Sept 28, Sept 30 and Oct 3, 2021.
