BINTULU, Nov 4: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for Jepak, Iskandar Turkee, and his wife, Dayang Loha Awang Sahari, have cast their votes at 8.45am today at SK Bintulu.

When approached by reporters, he said he bears additional responsibilities this by-election as a candidate compared to the last State election when he was only a voter.

He was also grateful that the weather was sunny as he urged all Jepak voters, including the youth, to come out and vote.

“This will be the last ‘exam’ for me whereby I’m evaluated by an interview panel of over 22,000 voters. If there is good fortune tonight, I will get the ‘offer letter’.

“If God allows it, I will be able to fulfil my duties and exercise the mandate given by Jepak voters,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) reported a turnout rate of 29 per cent for N67 Jepak as of 11am.
