KUCHING, April 4: Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, His Excellency Takahashi Katsuhiko, arrived in Bintulu as part of his two-day official visit to Sarawak.
According to a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) news report, he and his entourage arrived at Bintulu Airport on Monday morning (April 3).
Takahashi toured the Petronas Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Complex in Tanjung Kidurong, where he and his entourage were briefed on the establishment of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) and safety aspects at the company’s supervised plant.
Next, he was taken to visit the plant area to observe the situation there personally.
Takahashi, when met, expressed his hope that cooperation between Japan and Malaysia, including Petronas, would continue to be maintained for mutual economic prosperity.
He also appreciated the warm welcome from Bintulu Division Resident Nyurak Keti and Petronas during his visit.
After the Petronas LNG Complex tour, Takashi and his entourage were taken on a tour of Tanjong Batu Beach before leaving for Bintulu Airport to board a flight back to Kuching on Monday night. — DayakDaily
