KUCHING, Sept 7: A 25-year-old driver has succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident along Jalan Stutong Baru earlier today.
Kuching District Police Chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah confirmed that the victim, who was driving a Perodua Viva, was pronounced dead at 1. 15pm by a doctor at the Sarawak General Hospital’s emergency ward.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he said in a statement today.
He explained that the Perodua Viva, driven by the victim, was travelling towards Airport Road from Stutong Baru when it lost control and collided head-on with a Toyota Vios travelling in the opposite direction.
The driver of the Toyota Vios sustained only minor injuries as a result of the collision.
