MUKAH, April 9: Two men were killed in a collision involving a motorcycle and a pick-up truck along Jalan Saai-Semop on Sunday (April 7).
In a TVS news report posted yesterday (April 8), Matu Daro police chief DSP Neil Beginda said the accident occurred around 7.50pm that day and that both victims, ages 47 and 42, were travelling from Daro to Semop.
Neil added that the pick-up truck was driving from Sibu to Daro
“The motorcycle ridden by the victims suddenly veered into the opposite lane, resulting in a crash with the pick-up truck,” he said in a statement as reported by TVS.
The rider and his pillion rider sustained severe injuries and were confirmed dead at the scene by medical officers from Daro Hospital.
“Investigations revealed that the motorcycle rider failed to control his vehicle, which resulted in the accident.
“The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.” — DayakDaily
