SIBU, Sept 2: Jalan Oya Health Clinic is proposed to be temporarily relocated to rented premises due to the urgent condition of its existing building, ensuring the safety of healthcare workers and patients while allowing health services to continue uninterrupted.
According to a report by TVS, the matter was highlighted during Deputy Health Minister Dato Hanifah Hajar Taib’s working visit to the clinic yesterday (Sept 1), held in conjunction with the Borneo Health Tour (JKB) Series 4.
During the visit, Hanifah was briefed on the clinic’s operations, including patient attendance figures and the challenges arising from the increasing number of patients and workload faced by its staff.
She subsequently inspected the existing clinic building before visiting the proposed rented premises to assess their suitability as a temporary location.
Hanifah said close cooperation between the State health authorities and the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) was crucial to expediting a solution to the situation.
“Organised and effective follow-up action must be taken to ensure the safety, welfare and comfort of staff and patients at Jalan Oya Health Clinic,” she said. — DayakDaily
