KUCHING, Feb 23: Jalan Main Bazaar is among five roads that will be temporarily closed from Feb 24 to 27 for the upcoming Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia 2022 event at the Kuching Waterfront.
According to a notice by the Waterfront Hotel today, partial road closure and traffic diversion will also take place on Jalan Gambier, Jalan Pearl, Jalan Barrack, and Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg.
In light of the situation, the Management said Plaza Merdeka shopping centre’s waterfront exit will be closed during the whole event period.
The only exit available during the period is the Padang Exit while both Padang and Waterfront Entrances are open.
“Kindly note that as these road closures will be taking place around the hotel and the anticipated crowds for the event are high, we highly advise our event guests to arrive at the hotel earlier to avoid any issue of insufficient parking in the Plaza Merdeka shopping centre basement parking.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and offer our sincere gratitude for your kind understanding,” it said.

Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia 2022, themed the Festival of Cultural Diversity provides a colourful fiesta with a variety of tourism programmes and activities lined up, apart from Malaysian arts and cultural performances.
Among the events planned to enliven the programme include a Sarawak craft festival, sape concert, Sarawak drum festival, Malaysia textile craft fashion show, food bazaar as well as fireworks displays, musical fountains, decorated boats, cultural performances on a ship as well as sales of products. — DayakDaily
