Jalan Kulas oil spill: Truck carrying stolen diesel responsible

The authorities have traced the cause of the oil spill back to a truck carrying misappropriated diesel.

KUCHING, March 27: Deceptive methods of misappropriating subsidised diesel fuel has been determined to be the cause of an oil spill incident reported by the public at Jalan Kulas yesterday (March 27).

According to the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Contingent (JSPT) of Sarawak’s Facebook post yesterday, the inspection conducted on the truck responsible for the spill led to the discovery of a tank loaded with subsidised diesel fuel.

The JSPT has issued summons for various offenses against the truck driver, and the issue was later transferred to the officers of the Satok police station for arrest and subsequent action by the Sarawak Ministry of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDNKK).


Around 4pm yesterday, the police received a public complaint concerning a suspected truck believed to be carrying stolen diesel due to the spillage at Jalan Kulas.

Responding to the public’s concern, the Investigation and Traffic Enforcement Division of IPD Kuching, along with members of the Satok police station, took action by monitoring and controlling traffic at the site of the oil spill. — DayakDaily
