KUCHING, June 20: The conferment of Sarawak awards and medals to 1,700 recipients in Sarawak who have yet to be honoured is currently ongoing and will continue until August through a series of investiture ceremonies at the Astana Negeri, Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) reported.
Citing a statement issued by Astana Negeri Sarawak, the investiture ceremonies commenced on June 18 and are scheduled across 12 sessions to accommodate recipients whose awards were delayed between 2022 and 2024 due to unavoidable circumstances.
The next ceremony is slated for June 25, with a rehearsal set for June 24. Another session will take place on July 3, with its rehearsal on July 2.
Future dates for the remaining investiture ceremonies will be announced in accordance with the availability of Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.
The ceremonies serve to formally confer honours to distinguished individuals for their service and contributions to the State. — DayakDaily
