KUCHING, Oct 10: Interstate travel is permitted effective tomorrow (Oct 11) for the fully vaccinated.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) announced this in its daily Covid-19 update today, stating that a police permit is no longer necessary for inter-state travel.

However, for those traveling back to Sarawak, they must fulfil three requirements: application through enterSarawak, show of proof of full vaccination and show negative RT-PCR or antigen test results (valid only for three days).

The decision was in tandem with the announcement made by Prime Minister Dato Sri Ismail Sabri Yaakob earlier today.

Ismail Sabri said the Ministry of Health had decided to allow interstate travel from Oct 11 onwards following the national vaccination rate for the adult population reaching 90 per cent.

ā€œIn this regard, in line with the announcement by Dato Sri Ismail Sabri, SDMC has also agreed to give permission for individuals who have completed vaccinations to travel interstate without having to apply for permission from the police from Oct 11, 2021 (Monday) at 12.01am.

ā€œHowever, individuals wishing to enter Sarawak still need to do the following including applying for permit via enterSarawak, showing proof of ā€˜complete vaccinations statusā€™, showing negative RT-PCR or antigen test results verified by health clinics or laboratories (valid for three days only) and submission of other relevant personal information,ā€ said SDMC. ā€” DayakDaily
