Integrated Covid-19 operation to inoculate homeless in Miri

KUCHING, July 29: Homeless and destitute individuals in Miri will be inoculated with the Covid-19 vaccines through an integrated operation, which will be implemented soon.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, acting Miri Resident Jamalie Busri, who is also the acting chairman for Miri District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC), said the integrated operation was decided as a result of the advise from the Miri District Health Department recently.

“It will involve the relevant agencies, and a thorough preparation will be done by all agencies to ensure the success of the operation.


“This includes providing transit facilities and vaccination facilities as outlined by the Minister of Health (MOH),” he said when chairing a meeting with all the agencies that will be involved in the operation, today.

On another matter, a joint operation was conducted by various enforcement agencies on July 17, to locate the homeless and destitute individuals throughout the district, where a total of 13 homeless individuals have been successfully identified, including two foreigners, who have been referred to the Immigration Department in Miri.

Based on the Miri Divisional Welfare Department report, a total of 43 homeless individuals were recorded in Miri. — DayakDaily
