KUCHING, March 18: The establishment of an industrial cluster in Bintulu and a deeper understanding of Sarawak’s efforts in the transition to renewable energy, particularly concerning hydrogen, were discussed in a courtesy visit by the World Economic Forum (WEF) to the Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg
According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), this followed a courtesy call by the WEF represented by its Head of Community, Regional and Global Cooperation for Asia-Pacific, Shaun Adam, at Abang Johari’s office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here today.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss and explore several collaborations between the WEF and the Malaysian government, particularly with Sarawak.
“It was a very interesting meeting, where the Premier of Sarawak shared his views on several State priorities in the near future.
“We are also looking at opportunities to establish cooperation (with Sarawak),” he said.
Deputy Secretary of Sarawak (Economic Planning and Development), Dato Sri Dr Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel, was also present. — DayakDaily
