Indonesian teenager arrested selling contraband cigarettes, illegal lottery in Bau

BAU, June 18: A foreign teenager was arrested by police for selling contraband cigarettes and illegal lottery tickets during yesterday’s anti-gambling operation (Ops Dadu) yesterday.

Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon disclosed in a statement that an 18-year-old Indonesian girl was manning the counter at an eatery outlet in Siniawan Sentral when police raided the place at 5pm.

Police found and confiscated a total of 7,280 sticks of duty-unpaid cigarettes and kretek from various brands, one mobile phone, a log book with records of payment from online gambling and cash were seized in the operations.


The case will be investigated under Section 4(1) Common Gaming Houses Act 1953, Section 6(1)(c) Immigration Act 1963 and Section 135(1)(d) Customs Act .—DayakDaily
