KUCHING, May 6: Indonesian singer Andrey Arifianto won the seventh edition of the TVSTARZ’s concert last Tuesday by scoring 242 points, capturing the hearts of the jury with his version of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson’s song ‘Black or White’.
TVS in a statement yesterday said Andrey topped the competition while beating all other contestants including Filipino challenger Angel from the ‘Dream Team’.
It added Angel, who has just made her debut last week, sang ‘Music & Me’, captivating the juries and audience with her melodious voice and placed fourth in this week’s concert.
Meanwhile, Malaysia’s award winning songstress Ernie Zakri who is a jury of TVSTARZ said Andrey’s voice had both presence and clarity.
“There is no excuse even if this competition runs online. If a song is delivered sincerely, it can evoke emotion in its listeners and that is the ‘WOW’ factor for every singer,” he said when commenting on Andrey’s performance.
Likewise, TVS said another contestant, Jazper too made highlight as his performance of ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ exhibited his unique vocal colour, similar to international singers as referred to by jury, Pak Yudhi (Yudhi Seriestha). — DayakDaily
