KUCHING, Dec 16: An Indonesian was sentenced to 15 years in jail and 15 strokes of the cane for raping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl with disabilities.
Mus Muliadi, 40, from Indonesia pleaded guilty to two charges before Sessions Court Judge Musli Abdul Hamid.
Judge Musli convicted him as charged and sentenced him to 15 years’ imprisonment and 10 strokes of the cane to the first charge and eight years’ imprisonment and five strokes of the cane for the second charge. Both imprisonment terms are to run concurrently.
For the first charge, he was charged under Section 376(2) of the Penal Code for raping the 14-year-old girl.
As for the second charge, he was charged under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for sexually assaulting the same victim by touching her private parts.
He committed both acts at an unnumbered house in Kampung Suba Buan, at about 3pm on Oct 4, 2022.
The victim is a disabled person (OKU) with a learning disability.
