SIBU, Feb 20: A security guard was reported missing from a shipyard in Pulau Kerto on Tuesday (Feb 18) morning.

Marine police have gone all out to search for the 41-year-old Indonesian national named Hanyyen, since his elder brother, Mohd Nasir, reported him missing to the police.

Sibu district police chief Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said that at about 6.30am that day, the victim’s colleagues did not find him in the workers’ quarters after working the night shift.

He had also not punched out his working card that morning.

“The company supervisor and the victim’s friends had searched for him around the shipyard but failed to find him,” Stanley said.

He added that the victim, who had been working there for almost a year, was recorded by a CCTV camera patrolling at 4.37am on Tuesday.

According to him, no witnesses saw the victim fall off the ship.

“His personal belongings such as his passports, mobile phones, wallet and clothing are still in his bedroom,” Stanley said.

The case is being classified as a missing persons case. —DayakDaily
