It was noted that the fire had broken out at a semi-permanent ice cream factory measuring approximately 200ft by 200ft.

The fire involved the storage area containing powdered ingredients used in ice cream production.

The Tabuan Jaya operations commander initiated firefighting operations using one first-aid hose line and one 200-foot hose line with two nozzles. Water was supplied through relay pumping from the Petra Jaya fire engine, with additional water sourced from a water tanker.

An updated report stated that the fire has since spread across premises involving a food products factory, a thinner storage facility, a fertiliser factory, and a logistics warehouse.

Firefighters are carrying out defensive firefighting operations by establishing a fire break to prevent the blaze from spreading to additional factories.
