KUCHING, Oct 18: Ibraco Berhad (Ibraco) has reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing the lives of the communities it serves, announcing that its ongoing community outreach and support programme has benefited 315 underprivileged families to date.

At the same time, Ibraco also provided free commercial space for Hope Place to operate its Kedai Bajet, a shop that sells second-hand items in good condition. The funds raised from these sales are used to purchase essential items for the families and individuals under Hope Place’s care.

Ibraco and Hope Place come together to provide school supplies and daily essentials to children from underprivileged families.

Datuk Chew Chiaw Han, Group Managing Director of Ibraco Berhad, stated, “As a responsible corporate citizen and a sustainability-oriented organisation, Ibraco strongly believes in playing a proactive role in reducing social inequalities by assisting underprivileged communities in and around our business operations.

“We also understand that our corporate social responsibility efforts must be both consistent and long-term focused so that it can have a positive and tangible impact on our society at large. That is why this year’s community outreach and support programme marks the 8th consecutive year of our partnership with Hope Place.”

Since 2017, Ibraco, in collaboration with Hope Place, has assisted over 2,000 underprivileged families, impacting the lives of approximately 10,000 individuals across Sarawak.

Ibraco and Hope Place, together with local volunteers, deliver much-needed aid to rural families.

Kevin Wan from Hope Place expressed, “Ibraco is indeed a dedicated partner that shares our vision of giving hope and touching the lives of the community for a better future.

“Before carrying out this community outreach programme, our team took the time and effort to engage with local communities to fully understand their needs. This extra effort is not only practical, but it also sends a message to those in need that someone cares and is willing to help.

“Ibraco’s initiative to improve lives in our communities is an inspiration to all, and we hope to see more and more corporate citizens lend a helping hand to create a harmonious, fair, and sustainable society.” — DayakDaily
