KUCHING, May 5: The Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (Centexs) in collaboration with Sarawak Multimedia Authority (SMA) and the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) will launch the Hydrogen and Tech Safari 3.0 from May 20 until the end of the year.
In announcing this, Minister of Education, Innovative and Talent Development (MEITD) Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn said that the programme has the support of his ministry, Sarawak Foundation and Sarawak Metro.
He said the programme would begin in Centexs Lundu and nine other locations throughout Sarawak, including Serian, Betong, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri, Lawas, Kapit, Samarahan and Kuching.
“We expect more than 500 participants for each of the locations throughout the programme,” he told reporters at a press conference when announcing the programme at his ministry today.
Sagah shared that the programme would target current Form 5 students, school leavers and university graduates from various fields and the local community.
He added the objective of the programme is to promote and update the youth and the local community about the role and function of MEITD, SMA and SDEC in talent development towards the development of the digital economy and green energy in Sarawak.
He explained that Centexs will be a platform or medium in helping the youth of Sarawak to venture into green and digital industry training.
“Through this programme, information on the latest developments in the industry can be delivered through educational talks by Centexs.
“Its strategic partners can give awareness to students, especially Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates, school leavers and also graduates.”
Also present at the conference were Centexs chief executive officer Syeed Mohd Hussien Wan Abdul Rahman and MEITD permanent secretary Azmi Bujang. — DayakDaily
