MUKAH, Feb 8: A couple managed to escape to safety when their house caught fire at Ladang 3 Mukah SPB last night (Feb 7).
According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they received an emergency call at 7.54pm and deployed firefighters from the Selangau station.
Upon arrival at 8.20pm, it was noted that the non-permanent structure measuring 20×28 feet was destroyed by the fire, including a car and three motorcycles parked near the house.
Firefighters managed to control the fire by 8.40pm and conducted overhaul works. The operation ended at 10.10pm.
The couple, aged 31 and 32, who are married, were not injured during the incident.
The cause of the fire and the losses incurred are still under investigation. — DayakDaily
