KUCHING, April 30: A man succumbed to injuries with his wife in critical condition following an accident along Jalan Nanga Entabai in Julau yesterday (April 29).
According to Julau district police chief DSP Andam Sulin, the victim was identified as a 30-year-old man from Rumah Rajit in Sungai Bekelit Ulu, Sibuti.
He said both victims were believed to be on their way from Julau town at about 12.30am.
“It is also believed that they lost control of their vehicle, which skidded into the opposite lane, and fell into a drain on the side of the road,” he said in a statement yesterday.
He said the man was confirmed dead at the location after being attended to by medical personnel from Julau Health Clinic.
He also said the body was later sent to Sarikei Hospital’s mortuary for further action.
“The other victim who suffered from critical injuries were sent to Sibu Hospital for further treatment,” he added.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
