KUCHING, June 18: The Hungarian Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Sandor Sipos, who is currently on a working visit to Sarawak, took the opportunity to visit the Borneo Cultures Museum (BCM) to gain deeper insight into the State’s rich history and cultural heritage.
He was accompanied during the visit today by Deputy Head of Mission of Hungary, Kamilla Balla, Honorary Consul of Hungary, Dato Damien Chua, as well as other accompanying guests.
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news, the delegation toured several exhibition galleries showcasing Sarawak’s history, cultural diversity, and living heritage.
Dr Sandor expressed particular interest in the museum’s artefacts and interactive exhibits, which highlight the unique traditions and identities of the many ethnic communities that make up Sarawak.
Beyond offering the Hungarian delegation a closer appreciation of Sarawak, the visit also served as an avenue to further strengthen cultural ties and promote people-to-people exchange between both sides.
Earlier in the morning, Dr Sandor also paid a courtesy call on the Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, at Astana Sarawak. — DayakDaily
