KUCHING, Nov 4: Statues of Guang Ze Zun Wang and Miao Ying Xian Fei—Seng Ong Kong deities from Fujian, China—will get a grand reception by the Hong San Si Temple committee members with lion’s dance performances at Kuching International Airport (KIA) tomorrow afternoon.
Kuching Hockien Association president Dato Richard Wee said the deities and the temple officials on their inaugural visit to Malaysia are arriving from Penang on the last leg of their West Malaysia tour via private jet. They are expected to arrive at KIA at 1.40pm.
Wee added the statues would be in Kuching Sarawak from Nov 5 to 8 before proceeding to their final destination in Sabah.
“The god statues will be placed on a special float lorry and escorted by seven special vehicles and traffic police from KIA to the official venue of their stay at Hong San Si Temple at Wayang Street,” he said during a press conference on the visit at the association’s office here today.
Wee elaborated that there will be a grand worship ceremony at the temple starting at 9.30am on Nov 6 and followers of the deities can attend the special prayers.
