Hii Chang Kee hands over ministerial permanent secretary duties to Sherinna Hussaini

KUCHING, Dec 30: Outgoing permanent secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Datu Hii Chang Kee has officially handed over his duties to Datu Sherinna Hussaini who is Kuching Division Resident today.

The handing over of duties ceremony was witnessed by Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah at Baitulmakmur Building 2 in Petra Jaya here.

Hii, who has held the role early this year, will be posted to the Premier of Sarawak’s Department effective Jan 3, 2023.


According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), Hii has served in the Sarawak civil service since 1992, starting out at Sibu Municipal Council (SMC).

Throughout his career, he has served in various positions in the Sarawak government including as secretary for SMC for five years, Sibu District Resident and permanent secretary to the then Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Youth and Sports.

The ceremony also witnessed acting permanent secretary to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Nancy Jolhi handing over her duties to Morshidi Federick, who is the of Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) chief executive officer (CEO).

Nancy Jolhi will be taking on a new role as the director of Sarawak Museum Department on Jan 3, 2023.

She has been with the Sarawak civil service since 1997 and has served in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development for seven years.

Abdul Karim expressed his gratitude to both of them for their service.

Deputy Minister of Tourism Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Deputy Minister of Creative Industries and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan and Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development Dr Ripin Lamat were present. — DayakDaily
