Hidup collaborates with NGO to conduct disinfection in Stakan

KUCHING, Jan 25: In an ongoing effort to ensure safety in workplaces, places of worship and schools especially in the fight against Covid-19, Habitat for Indigenous and Urban Programme (Hidup) has collaborated with its corporate partner Kaizen Coway to carry out fogging and disinfecting exercises at various mosques and pre-schools in Stakan area.

Hidup’s president George Young Si Ricord Jr said the non govermental organisation (NGO), which was led by its team leader Mohamad Baihaqi, carried out fogging and disinfecting exercises at various mosques and pre-schools in Stakan.

“Beginning with Masjid Darul Takwa Kampung Stakan Melayu, Masjid Darul Iman Kampung Sri Arjuna Batu 10, Tadika Nur Jannah Kampung Arjuna, Tabika Kemas Skim Pembesaran Batu 12 Kuching Serian Road, the entire exercise took about two days,” said George in a statement issued here today.

He added that Kaizen Coway’s trained teams assisted the people in Stakan by using two-steps methods –  through fogging and disinfecting process.

“The fogging process takes about 45 minutes to an hour per premise. And after that the whole room disinfection will be done to enable difficult-to-reach places to be thoroughly disinfected,” he said.

George said, to address the pandemic issue, Hidup aimed to find science-based solutions that addressed the present challenges and that it will continue establishing collaborations that amplify its assistance to the local community.

He said, the procedures carried out by Mohamad and his team as “very reassuring” to the those villagers.

“We get involved and do what we can to assist families who need help and get things done,” added George. — DayakDaily
