Heavy rain, strong winds to sweep through Sarawak, expected to last until 8pm (Nov 19)

KUCHING, Nov 19: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas in Sarawak this evening.

Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong winds affecting Kuching, Samarahan (Samarahan), Betong (Kabong), Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Mukah, Bintulu (Bintulu), and Miri (Subis, Beluru, and Marudi). The warning, issued at 5.05 pm today, remains effective until 8pm.

“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity of more than 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to last for more than an hour,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
