KUCHING, May 10: A thunderstorm warning has been announced for several areas in Sarawak this afternoon, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Sibu (Selangau), Mukah (Mukah), Kapit (Belaga), and Bintulu (Bintulu). The warning, which was issued at 2.15pm today, will remain in effect until 5pm.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
