Heavy rain, strong winds forecast for Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, nearby areas until 9pm (April 29)

KUCHING, April 29: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm, heavy rain, and strong wind warning for several areas in Sarawak, effective until 9pm today.

The affected areas include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong (Pusa and Betong), Sarikei (Julau), Sibu (Kanowit and Selangau), Mukah (Dalat and Mukah), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Telang Usan and Marudi), and Limbang.

The warning was issued at 5.30pm after signs indicated thunderstorms with rainfall intensity exceeding 20mm per hour, expected to persist for more than an hour.
