KUCHING, June 25: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for Miri and several locations in Sabah today.

Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Miri (Subis, Beluru and Miri) as well as Tawau (Tawau and Lahad Datu).

The warning, issued at 1.09pm today, will remain in effect until 4pm.

“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.

“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per release,ā€ the notice said. ā€” DayakDaily
